We head towards the south from Costa Teguise, Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen, Puerto Calero and Playa Blanca, passing through the village of Yaiza. We will stop at the Echadero de los Camellos for an optional camel ride at the Fire Mountains.
Further on we will continue along the road among volcanoes in order to visit the unique landscape at the National Park Timanfaya formed by the volcanic eruptions during the 18th and 19th century. We will get off at the peak with the highest temperatures measured on the island in order to do geothermal experiments, after which we will go for the “Ruta de Los Volcanes” with our bus, listening to the history of the events, which took place during the eruptions.
We will continue to the western part of Lanzarote to admire the view towards the “Salinas de Janubio” (Salt flats of Janubio). (At present the road to Los Hervideros is closed due to landslides and it is substituted with the panoramic view of Salt flats of Janubio.)
Our next stop will be in the village of El Gofo in order to see the Lago Verde or the Green Lagoon. A lunch stop is included during the excursion.
By the end of the excursion we will take the road to La Geria – the vineyard of Lanzarote par excellence, an example of overcoming unimaginable difficulties by the human beings and where the ingenuity of the conejero farmers, has developed a unique landscape. We stop at a typical winery with a wine tasting included.
